A new Year and A new Beginning

I must admit it has been very difficult getting the time to dedicate to my blog. My new years resolution is to dedicate more time to this site. I started it as a voice and a place that I can share my expertise. A place of knowledge and possibly entertainment. I have also hoped it can be a place of personal sharing and maybe I can help someone with my own experiences. My biggest hinderance in accomplishing what I have set out to do, has been not having my own personal laptop.  I am so happy that I got one this Christmas!! Now I can spend more time writing, even if it is only a short blurp.

Now that Christmas is over and the New Year has begun I am sure many, such as myself, have decided on what they were going to set out and accomplish this year. I am always cautious with New Year's resolutions as I tend to find there can be unrealistic expectations. There is, however, no harm in setting realistic goals. Without a personal expectation then we do not set out to accomplish it is human nature.

A great New Year's  goal could be spending more time for yourself. Reading a good book, a bubble bath with a glass of wine, or maybe treating yourself once a month to a proper pedicure. It could be something big like starting a business goal, or buying a house or a new car. Whatever the goal is be sure to write it down! I know from experience that everytime I write down the goals I want to accomplish, it seems they happen. It amazes me evcrytime!

It does not stop at setting a goal, or writing it down either. I find having a thankful heart is very important. Whatever your faith may be in, writing in words all the things you are thankful deep in your soul for things in your life seems to breed success. We so often focus on the have nots and forget to be thankful for what we have right in front of us. The average North American has more than we could ever need or consume and we are very much ran by a consumer mentality. Marketers cater to this human need for self indulgence and want. It is ok to work hard for the things you have, but I have learned for me, that if I am not thankful then it is harder for me to accomplish more.

As for me, I am thankful for my friends, family and their health as well as my health. I am thankful for so many things including having clean water to drink, and food in my belly. I am thankful for my clients and a talent and a skill that I have that can help men and women feel great about themselves.  So much to be thankful for.

The world is a wealth of opportunity. I plan to swim in the clouds, feel the wind tickle my nose, and the sun rays kiss my skin. (of course while wearing a sunscreen). Hold my hand and let us make this a great year!
